NAME SEARCH
A person seeking to form a company shall ascertain whether a name is available for registration by submitting a Name Search together with the prescribed fee
RE-REGISTRATION
Section 303(9) Of The companies and other business entities Act requires all registered companies to apply for re-registration.
The company must register under its existing name, without prejudice to its right after Re-Registration to change its name.
NEW REGISTRATION
Where confirmation of the availability of a name is issued the Applicant must with in 30 days of receiving the notice submit the Memorandum and Articles of Association, Registered Office Address and list of Directors and Secretaries together with the prescribed fee.
ANNUAL RETURN
The annual return of a company must be submitted within 21 days of the anniversary date of its incorporation, registration or re-registration in terms of section 303
About CIPZ
The Companies and Intellectual Property Office of Zimbabwe (CIPZ) was established for the Registration of Companies and Other Business Entities registrable under the COMPANIES AND OTHER BUSINESS ENTITIES ACT [CHAPTER 24:31] CIPZ is currently located in Harare and Bulawayo. The office consists of a Chief Registrar of Companies and Other Business Entities, who exercises general supervision and direction of CIPZ; registrars, assistant registrars and other officers. The Chief Registrar of Companies and Other Business Entities may in writing authorise an assistant registrar, inspector or other officer referred to in subsection of the Act to exercise any of the functions of a Registrar under this Act. The Chief Registrar shall provide every inspector with a document identifying him or her as an inspector, and the inspector shall produce it on request by any interested person.
